What happens to the software?

The ECU controls your engine and is factory-tuned for dozens of markets at once, with varying fuel qualities and maintenance intervals. We read out that software, keep the original as a backup and tune the maps to your car. After writing it back, a test drive follows in which we check the mixture under full load, among other things. Count on about 2.5 hours for the whole session. On the polder roads you notice the result mainly in the midrange: pulling earlier, less downshifting when merging and a more direct throttle response.

Does your car need a new inspection after ECU tuning?

Only above a certain power increase, and with us you know that in advance. We stay within the margins the manufacturer maintains and go through the RDW requirements with you before the appointment, not afterwards.
