Why does torque count more than horsepower?
Because you use torque all day and peak power almost never. An engine that can deliver its power earlier has to downshift less and drives more calmly, even with weight behind it. For diesels, fuel consumption can drop slightly as a result, provided you keep the same driving style.
How do we modify the software?
We read out the existing software via OBD or, if the engine management requires it, via boot mode or on the bench. We always keep the original file as a backup. Then we tune the maps within the reserve the manufacturer itself builds in, write the modified software back and drive a test drive in which we check the measured air mass and the turbo pressure, among other things.
How does the appointment in Elburg go?
You come to our own store and workshop by appointment, so your car is up the moment you arrive. Count on about 2.5 hours; a courtesy car is available during the work. If you drive an automatic, we also discuss whether modifying the transmission software makes sense, because torque limiters and shift points partly determine how much of the engine gain you actually see.
