ARD (ADRO Racing Division) is ADRO's motorsport engineering program, developed for drivers who want more from their car on track. Every ARD part is developed through CFD simulation and tested on track. The ARD quad canards are engineered to do one specific job: manage the vortices initiated by the Front Splitter and direct airflow around the front wheels.
The front wheels are one of the biggest sources of aerodynamic drag and turbulence on a passenger car. Each canard generates a vortex at its outer edge. In a quad configuration, those vortices stack and sequence to form a curtain of controlled airflow between the Front Splitter's endplates and the wheel arches. This reduces turbulent, high-pressure air spilling in from the rotating wheel, keeping underbody flow cleaner and letting the undervanes work more efficiently. As part of the complete ARD Aero Package, the system generates 2555 N (260 kg) of downforce at 180 km/h, a 1254% increase over the M2's stock 189 N.
Made from prepreg carbon fiber. For canards, stiffness is critical: a canard that flexes under aerodynamic load changes its angle of attack, degrading the vortex and with it the airflow control. Prepreg holds the geometry in place under sustained load, so the canard behaves the same on lap 20 as it did on lap 1.
